Dr. McCune and his staff are expertly trained to surgically destroy benign lesions such as warts, moles, skin tags, and seborrheic keratoses. Premalignant lesions can also be effectively treated.

Surgical excision of benign and malignant skin lesions

Those benign skin lesions requiring surgical excision are treated by Dr. McCune in our office-based surgical suite. Great care is taken to repair your skin in a way that maximizes the cosmetic outcome of your scar.
Many skin cancers can be excised under frozen section control at our facilities. Certain malignancies can be effectively destroyed by the Sciton Profile ablative laser.

This is the most accurate surgical technique to treat most non-melanoma skin cancers including basal call and squamous cell carcinomas. Created by Dr. Frederic Mohs over 40 years ago, the procedure that bears his name gives the highest cure rates of any available therapy. During his residency at Mayo Clinic, Dr. McCune was able to spend time with Dr. Mohs in his clinic in Madison, Wisconsin observing him perform Mohs surgery. Dr. McCune has received additional training in this technique and treats those skin cancers that are appropriately managed by the Mohs technique at Kansas City Laser and Dermasurgery Center, P.A.
